Contract NATO position


Our client is NATO, an intergovernmental defence and security alliance formed by 32 member nations, dedicated to guaranteeing the freedom and security of its members through political and military cooperation. This position is a NATO contract role within a highly secure, highly technical, international, and multicultural institutional environment.


The position is a specialised engineering role with significant operational responsibility, supporting the maintenance, compliance, and readiness of the SATCOM Static Ground Station in The Hague. The selected professional will contribute to the day-to-day operation of antenna systems, RF signal chains, power and environmental infrastructure, and civil/structural components; ensure alignment with NATO technical and safety standards; assist with lifecycle management and obsolescence mitigation; and support the Principal Engineer in planning, documentation, and upgrades. Responsibilities will also include configuration control, fault diagnosis, preventive and corrective maintenance, and the production of monthly engineering reports within a secure operational environment.


Profile requirements:
• The ideal candidate must hold a valid NATO SECRET clearance for the entire duration of the contract (mandatory requirement).
• University Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related discipline, with at least 2 years of post-related experience, or Higher Vocational Training with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in SATCOM systems, including UHF, SHF, HF, and EHF.
• Solid understanding of modern military communication networks, interfaces, protocols, and SATCOM Operations.
• Familiarity with incident and problem management in a customer-focused operational or control-centre environment.
• Experience using test equipment such as spectrum analysers, vector network analysers, oscilloscopes, and power meters, as well as the capacity to automate measurements with LabView, Matlab, Python, or C.
• Prior experience working in a NATO or multinational military environment will be highly valued, with knowledge of NATO operational standards and procedures.
• Excellent command of English (C1 level) and strong communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a multicultural environment.
